Personal Umbrella

In today’s day and age with large judgments and awards, a Personal Umbrella is a necessity for almost everyone who drives a car, owns a home or has assets which would be subject to loss at stake. Umbrellas are designed to cover catastrophic situations where a legal award could exceed the limits of your primary liability insurance.

A Personal Umbrella liability provides coverage over all other liability insurance, such as a person’s homeowners, automobile, boat, etc. The Umbrella limits range from $1,000,000 to $10,000,000 and extends coverage when the primary liability insurance is exhausted. The Umbrella provides coverage for you, your spouse and any relatives living in your household and insured by your primary policies. Also included is coverage if you are sued for false imprisonment, wrongful eviction, libel, slander, defamation of character or invasion of privacy.

Umbrellas are inexpensive in comparison to the limits provided and premiums are based upon exposures such as the state in which you live, the number of homes, cars/drivers, and boats you maintain.
